Within the framework of the German Rail investment program many smaller rail stations round the country are being updated to ensure barrier-free access. Further measures are the renewal of platforms, the installation of ramps and elevators, guide systems for the blind, weather protection facilities and passenger information systems. Since October 2017 a new pedestrian bridge, barrier-free access and the installation and commissioning of elevators have been implemented. The two shaft designs in steel and glass were completed recently, while the elevators will be installed in the fall of 2020. For the static reinforcement of the shafts m·connect tension rod systems were used. The filigree elements make a significant contribution to the transparent steel construction. Further German Rail projects are soon to be commenced, among them major rail station projects such as the East Berlin Rail Station and the main station in Hanover and Duisburg.
